The Drop 6.0 has an upper made from a stretch mesh, a perforated synthetic suede palm, and a patch on the edge of the palm for a bit of abrasion resistance. You also get a Velcro fastener, while the fingertips are compatible with phone screens.
Thanks to that Velcro tab, the Drop 6.0s are very easy to put on and close up comfily.
The fit is mostly very good, though the dip between the forefinger and thumb is relatively shallow. Gripping the bars forces the fabric into a slight stretch – on my hands, the tension just makes the bars feel a bit weird. Those with relatively long fingers/thumbs will find them shoved into the ends, which puts pressure on the seams.
If you have shortish fingers you may avoid this entirely, but mine are pretty average and I don't usually have this problem.
Despite this, I like the Drop 6.0s. Because the material is very thin, there’s little to restrict movement and the upper allows a decent amount of air through. Consequently they’re lovely and cool – great for summer – and give a great bar feel.
The only major gripe I have with these gloves is the lack of a terry cloth nose wipe. You never realize how useful they are until you don’t have one.
Beyond this, the Alpinestars Drop 6.0 gloves have very little wrong with them. They’re cool, fit well (apart from that thumb area) and I appreciate the understated styling.
