Jack is group editor across road.cc and off.road.cc. He has been writing about cycling and multisport for over a decade, arriving at road.cc via 220 Triathlon Magazine in 2017. He worked across all areas of the website including tech, news and video, and also contributed to eBikeTips before being named editor of road.cc in 2021 (much to his surprise) and group editor across road.cc and off.road.cc in 2025. Jack has been hooked on cycling since his student days, and in his stable he currently has a Trek 1.2 for winter riding, a beloved Bickerton folding bike for getting around town, a Norco Storm hardtail for adventures on Cannock Chase, and an extra beloved custom Ridley Helium SLX for fantasising about going fast. Jack has never won a bike race, but does have a master's degree in print journalism, and two Guinness World Records for pogo sticking (it's a long story).

British bikepacking equipment specialist Tailfin has announced its first event, called Tailfin Detours. The bikepacking weekender, which will take place around the Abergavenny area in Wales between Friday 12 – Sunday 14 September, has a few unique spins on your standard cycling event, including a route that is self-plotted between two checkpoints - with participants encouraged to detour between them and find nine more optional checkpoints - and an "inclusive" pricing structure, that offers a limited number of lower priced entries for those facing financial barriers.
