The Leatt DBX 2.0 women's short sleeve jersey is a t-shirt style top with a loose fit and a casual style for summer riding. It's comfy and stretchy, but it's not as cool as claimed – and if you don't wear armour, you may want to size down.

The DBX 2.0 is the only women's jersey in the Leatt range, and it comes in short or long sleeve versions. Whilst the men get a range of jerseys aimed at enduro pedalling, downhill racing or cross-country missions, Leatt's sole ladies option is a casual top designed for anything.

The jersey fabric is a polyester/nylon mix which feels like cotton, but is claimed to wick sweat more effectively.

I found that to be true, but it's a little thicker and slower-drying than other technical fabrics, such as those of the Troy Lee Designs Skyline or the Pearl Izumi Launch. That extra thickness means it's noticeably warmer than many, and better for when it's cooling towards long-sleeve territory than for blazing sun.

It's a loose, baggy fit, but still comes up quite large. I'm a size 8 normally and would have been better in XS than small. Given Leatt's focus on downhill and gravity riding, perhaps this jersey is sized for body armour.

At just £36 it's impressively detailed, with comfortable overlocked seams, raglan sleeves, a goggle wipe, rear reflective details and a well-dropped tail.

The Leatt DBX 2.0 is a comfortable jersey with great styling, and a good choice for those who like a baggy fit rather than a shaped, fitted one. It particularly suits trail rides and gravity fed blasts, and is good value to boot, but it's a bit warm for high summer and you may need to size down.
