Canyon's trail e-MTB goes enduro — Neuron:ON gets new linkage, more travel and mullet wheelsize

Canyon's Neuron:ON is an e-mountain bike that's designed to go the distance while being ready for anything. Now, the brand has given it the CLLCTV treatment, gracing the bike with more suspension travel, an all-new rocker link, and a burlier suspension fork, all to help boost its versatility to the more aggressive side of riding.

Wondering what CLLCTV means, and what Canyon has against vowels? Well, we can answer the first bit for you. It's the term that Canyon uses to refer to special models in its bike ranges that are built with more of a gravity persuasion, which indicates exactly what this new Neuron:ON CLLCTV model is all about. As for its firm dislike of vowels, we'll leave that up to you.
The standard Neuron:ON is built to tackle a bit of everything in a trail-friendly platform. That's thanks to a pair of 29in wheels, 145mm of suspension at the rear, and 150mm up front. However, with the new CLLCTV edition, Canyon has shaken that formula up with a more aggressive build for more gravity-fuelled riding.
Built around an alloy frame, the Neuron:ON CLLCTV benefits from an all-new rocker link, which opens up the opportunity to run a mixed wheel setup on the medium through to the extra large frame. As for the extra small and small sizes, they run 650b wheels at both ends. Going back to that linkage, it brings bigger bearings, all of which can be serviced using an 8mm allen key.
On top of that, Canyon has given the bike more suspension travel at the front, 10mm more, in fact. Now running a 160mm travel fork, provided by a RockShox ZEB Ultimate, the Neuron:ON CLLCTV gets a slacker head angle that now sits at 64 degrees. A RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate handles the rear 145mm. Moving to a fatter stanchioned fork solves one of the qualms we had about the standard bike in our Canyon Neuron:ON CF8.
Elsewhere, the bike leans further into its enduro-fuelled intentions with SRAM Maven brakes and SRAM's Eagle 90 Transmission mechanical drivetrain. It then rolls on a pair of DT Swiss H1900 wheels that are wrapped with Schwalbe's Magic Mary Radial tyres.
As for the motor, Bosch covers that with the Performance Line CX Gen 5, complete with the recent update.
Up for a burlier mid-travel e-mountain bike? The Canyon Neuron:ON CLLCTV will set you back £5,500.
