road.cc Video: Shimano GRX RX800 1x hands-on
Shimano's new GRX groupset for gravel and adventure bikes has been one of the most eagerly anticipated new products of 2019, partly because it sees a proper 1x setup for the first time that doesn't require cobbling together mountain bike components to road bar shifters.
Was it worth the wait though? It's a question I've tried to answer in the video above by spending some time riding the RX800 mechanical groupset on a Mason Bokeh that is currently on test. I took it up and down my graveliest tracks to see how it fares.

David worked on the road.cc tech team from 2012-2020. Previously he was editor of Bikemagic.com and before that staff writer at RCUK. He's a seasoned cyclist of all disciplines, from road to mountain biking, touring to cyclo-cross, he only wishes he had time to ride them all. Everyone knows the 10t cog on SRAM is useless so it's really an 11 speed. Shimano has a more usable 11t that actually works. But i am impressed...
