You can now make your mechanical SRAM Eagle 70 or 90 drivetrain electric and wireless, as SRAM unveils GX AXS T-Type upgrade kit

One of the biggest features to come with SRAM's new Transmission drivetrains, and most notably its Eagle 70 and 90 models, is that they're designed to be entirely rebuildable. With that in mind, the drivetrain giant has capitalised upon that important feature and has now brought a GX T-Type AXS upgrade kit for its mechanical offering. Now, owners of Eagle 90 or 70 can upgrade their shifting to the brand's wireless AXS platform.

SRAM's Transmission drivetrains have taken the market by storm. Not only do they bin the derailleur hanger in favour of a direct mount mech, but the brand has built a whole ecosystem that promises better shifting under load, improved durability, and thus an easier, maintenance-free time on the bike. Only a few weeks ago, SRAM brought that T-Type technology to two cable-operated systems with Eagle 90 and Eagle 70.
Now, as seen with the GX AXS Upgrade Kit of old, SRAM has unveiled its latest GX AXS Upgrade Kit for Transmission drivetrains.
Built up of a GX Eagle AXS Transmission derailleur body, AXS battery, and controller, as well as a fresh Powerlock chain link, users only need to unwind their threaded cage assembly, wind it onto the new derailleur body, and bolt it onto the bike. This then grants you access to SRAM's wireless shifting. The derailleur body comes in a specific black anodised finish too.
While the kit contains everything you need to make the switch to wireless, note that the setup key, knurled ring, bushing, and mount bolt are not included, so you'll have to use your existing fittings.
