Boardman Bikes have a range of new hardtails due to be released in September, updating its MHT lineup. We took a closer look at the MHT 8.9, a sub £1,000 hardtail with 12 speed SRAM SX and a host of other good spec choices. 

The sixth MTBMeetup took place over three days at Coed Llandegla Forest in North Wales from the 26^th  - 28^th July 2019. MTBMeetup is a not for profit, social mountain biking event held each and every summer. It's purely an event for mountain bikers to get together, ride, meet new friends, have some good food and a cheeky beer or two.

We've got a bikepacking theme running this week, with kit from Ortlieb, Salsa, Topeak, Knog and Teravail. Most of the kit isn't confined to just be adventures though, it's stuff we'll be putting through its pace both on mountain bikes and gravel bikes. Enjoy....

The Specialized Ambush with ANGI is light and comfortable half-face mountain bike helmet that is forging ahead in terms of safety technology, giving us peace of mind that we don’t think we’d go without now when riding alone.

The SunRace MX80 11 speed 11-50T cassette is a wide range cassette with smooth increments that works with some current 11spd mech and shifters. But it is pretty heavy and it won’t work with all derailleurs.

Not that every week isn't full of awesome new kit, but we've really pulled something out of the bag this week! There's two Shimano groupset in, SLX 12 speed for a mountain bike and GRX 1x for a gravel bike, we've also got TRP e-bike brakes, waterless wash and what looks like a great value GPS from Leyne. The Go Outdoors brand, Calibre Bikes, today launch the brand new Bossnut and it looks like a bargain of a trail ripper! The 2020 bike get spec and geometry updates, coming in at just £1,100 for what looks like a very capable mountain bike.

The much loved Specialized Enduro has had a makeover and its a pretty sizeable one at that. The new 2020 bike is longer travel with redesigned suspension and a whole new look plus a new system of frame sizing. For this year it's carbon and 29er only too. 

The Ride Concepts women’s Livewire shoes are a reasonable prices flat mountain bike shoe that is robust, pretty stiff and has a cool, casual look for trail and enduro riding. They aren’t as tacky as rivals but they are pretty sticky and are ‘wear all day’ comfortable.

After the introduction of the pricey Exploro Team Force/Eagle earlier this month, 3T continues its new model roll-out with the more wallet friendly Exploro Pro Rival.
