Commencal unveils all new Meta Power SX, becoming the latest MTB brand to partner with DJI... but you'll have to wait until spring 2026

Commencal has partnered with DJI on its all new Meta Power SX DJI enduro electric mountain bike. It comes with 160mm travel front and rear, an MX wheel setup as standard, plus the famed 120Nm of torque and 1,000 watts of power from the DJI motor. Tempted? You'll have to wait a while, with pre-orders being taken for a spring 2026 delivery in the UK...

Same Meta, new, more powerful motor
The fact that Commencal has decided to create a model swapping the lightweight Bosch SX motor to something as powerful as DJI'offering signifies a pretty intriguing shift. More and more brands are going down the route of 'more power = better', despite what many consumers (and our managing editor Liam) are saying.
But. as the DJI motor is so compact and doesn't offer much of a weight penalty (besides the 800Wh battery), will people mind that the Meta SX has essentially gone from a lightweight to a full-fat bike? I should point out you can still buy the Meta Power SX 400 with the Bosch SX system, so this isn't a complete pivot or replacement.
But I digress. The specs of the new Meta Power SX DJI include 10mm less travel than the Meta Power SX 400, placing it more in the e-enduro/trail category with 160mm front and rear.
Specs and pricing
The suspension is still supplied by Fox, the Podium model equipped with Fox Podium forks and a Float X2 Factory shock. Sizes M and above come with an 800Wh battery, where the size S comes with a 600Wh option.
All use SRAM drivetrains, with the Signature model and above getting electronic gears. They also get Shimano XT brakes, compared to the TRP DH-R EVO Pro on the Essential model.
There are three models in total: the Essential at £7,500, Signature at £8,900, and Podium at £10,300. The current pricing for the Meta Power SX 400 options are £5,700 for the Essential Eagle 90, £7,500 for the Signature with Eagle 90, and £7,800 for Signature AXS, for context.
Sadly, if you're looking at getting hold of one you'll have to wait until Spring 2026, but it does look like they'll be available to ship to the UK.
