Specialized Trail Rain Jacket review

The Specialized Trail Rain Jacket is designed to be used out on the trails and is casual enough to wear around town. The 2.5-layer woven fabric and fully taped seams of this cycling jacket claim to be waterproof and breathable, paired with a relaxed fit.

Alpina Bonfire Q-Lite Glasses review

The Alpina Bonfire glasses are a versatile and well-performing set of riding specs. They’re lightweight, provide lots of coverage and are a good fit. The Q-Lite lens adds extra contrast and light protection but is only useable in direct sunlight conditions. For the money, these are excellent value and should be strongly considered if you're looking for a pair of the best mountain bike sunglasses.

Lazer Cage KinetiCore full-face helmet review

The Lazer Cage KinetiCore full-face helmet has a host of fancy features which make it a competitive downhill or enduro offering. It proves to be a comfortable helmet which has great airflow and works well for all-day sessions. The fixed visor and lack of dial retention adjustment may be off-putting for some but shouldn't be considered deal breakers, making this a prime consideration among the best full-face MTB helmets.

Hunt Proven Carbon Race Enduro Wheelset review

Hunt's Proven Carbon Race Enduro wheelset is sensibly priced not to mention tough, compliant and very competitively priced. There are some drawbacks such as paint durability and bearing life but the rims have managed to fend off everything thrown their way.

Endura MT500 Burner Clipless Shoe review

The MT500 Burner clipless shoe is a feature-filled offering from Endura which focuses heavily on ergonomics and pedalling performance. The shoe provides plenty of protection and a stiff platform to pedal from and, with lots of adjustability for the cleat position, it works well on the bike. The grip from the tread is great on- and off the bike but I found the sole to be a little too stiff for prolonged periods of walking. Although sizing was in line with expectations, they did come up a little narrow so try before you buy.

POC Tectal Race Mips helmet review

The POC Tectal Race is a high-end half-shell helmet that is aimed at the enduro market. It offers great coverage in a high-quality and well-thought-out package. The fit is confidence inspiring but the lack of a magnetic buckle and poor sweat management does let it down a little.

Upgrade Compact Torque Driver 5Nm review

The Upgrade Compact Torque Driver comes with a range of useful tool bits and is set to 5Nm to cover a range of bicycle applications. It has an excellent cam-over action which positively indicates you’ve hit 5Nm. The handle is a little uncomfortable to use but it’s compact size means it would be easy to stash in any toolbox. It proves to be sensibly priced and readily available.

Endura Hummvee Plus MIPS helmet review

The Endura Hummvee Plus Mips helmet represents excellent value for money with top-quality construction, a comfortable fit and no-nonsense styling. At this price point it does very little wrong and makes an excellent choice for anyone looking for one of the best mountain bike helmets for trail or enduro use.

Oxford North Shore 2.0 glove review

The Oxford North Shore 2.0 glove is on the thicker side making it a great option for the shoulder seasons not to mention a great addition to your best winter mountain bike gloves collection. The upper is tough and integrates some padding protection which is handy for fending off trail-side prickles. The palm is very comfortable and doesn’t detract from the feel of the grip.

Zefal Deflector Lite Front mudguard review

The Zefal Deflector Lite front mudguard sits at the minimalist end of the company's range. For its size, it provides good protection and comes in a simple-to-fit and universal package. It's a subtle addition to your bike which remains quiet on the trails. If you need more protection look at Zefal’s FM20 or FM30 options - both of which are some of the best MTB mudguards around.
