Madison Enigma riding glasses review
The Madison Enigma riding glasses are available with a single lens or as a three-pack with a carry case. They have proven to be a reliable pair of glasses with an excellent field of view at a very sensible price. The lens-changing process is a little fiddly, however, the frames may be a little narrow for some and they do feel on the cheap side but at this price, they are hard to look past.
POC VPD Air+ Tee body armour review
The POC VPD Air+ Tee body armour is a full-protection offering comprising shoulder, chest and back plates. The armour proves to be comfortable and non-restrictive, and it manages heat surprisingly well, but it is also bulky due to the nature of being a full torso suit. The backplate tends to ride up a little, but it's a great offering if you’re looking for maximum protection.
Bluegrass Vanguard Core full face helmet review
The Bluegrass Vanguard Core full-face helmet has all the features you’d expect from an enduro helmet. It's a lightweight and well-ventilated lid with the standard Mips liner. However, it goes further by incorporating downhill levels of safety and includes a dial-adjusted cradle for the perfect fit. It’s not cheap but the performance on offer in such a well-finished package justifies the price.
Fizik Gravita Tensor flat pedal riding shoes review
Fizik’s Gravita Tensor flat shoe is intended for downhill and enduro use but does stray slightly from the traditional gravity shoe blueprint. It has a comfortable fit yet provides excellent protection with a sturdy sole. Pedal grip isn’t the best and the sole is a little stiff for a lot of off-bike walking however the shoes are well-made and impressively comfortable while riding.
Michelin Wild Enduro MH Racing Line tyre review
The Michelin Wild Enduro has received a revamp to improve grip, reduce rolling resistance and shave weight off the original design. The lighter casing and compound retain the excellent grip and ride quality of the previous version with fewer drawbacks. Improved rolling speed is noticeable, which makes the tyre much easier to live with.
Michelin Wild Enduro Racing Line Rear tyre review
The latest revision of the Michelin Wild Enduro rear tyre has tipped it more towards efficiency, thanks to a noticeable and welcome reduction in rolling resistance. The brand's super grippy rubber is present, and the new casing saves a little weight whilst still being plenty tough enough.
Fox Union Canvas flat pedal riding shoe review
The already popular Fox Union flat pedal shoe also has a cheaper canvas version that is a little more casual-looking. The sole provides excellent on and off-bike grip whilst being stiff enough to be supportive and not too stiff to compromise walking comfort. The canvas material is a little harder to keep clean and doesn’t breathe too well but is tough and will take a beating on the trails. Its a well-priced, versatile and great-performing flat pedal shoe.
Specialized Trail Air Jersey review
The Specialized Trail Air Jersey, available in short- and long-sleeve versions, is a lightweight and breathable option at a sensible price. The material does a great job of wicking moisture and has a slight stretch, which keeps the jersey comfortable even with the fit being on the slimmer side. With a wide range of sizes and a choice of colourways, there should be an option for everyone.
Voodoo Canzo Pro mountain bike review
The Voodoo Canzo Pro is a 140mm trail bike and is a solid offering to the entry-level of the trail bike market. Aside from a slightly slack seat angle, the geometry is right on the money, providing a lively and nimble ride. Although the dropper is a little short, there's plenty of room for upgrades and weight reduction. At this price point, the Voodoo Canzo Pro deserves credit for making a well-performing trail bike accessible.
Race Face Chester grips review
The Race Face Chester grips prove to be a comfortable and reliable companion which, thanks to the cleverly placed soft rubber, do a great job of taking the sting out of harsh handlebar feedback. Available in two diameters and a wide range of colourways, these grips should suit most people, and they have to be on the list to consider for your next set of grips.
